Kazakhstan continues to steadily increase pulse exports, including shipments to neighboring Uzbekistan, according to APK-Inform, citing official statistics.
Total exports of the country's key pulse crops (lentils, peas, and chickpeas) reached approximately 536 thousand tons during the first 10 months of the 2025/26 MY. This was nearly 38% higher than the 389 thousand tons exported during the same period of the previous season.
Lentil shipments posted the strongest growth, increasing by 44% to 410 thousand tons.
Kazakh pea exports rose by 19% to 101.5 thousand tons.
Chickpea exports increased by 37% to 24.6 thousand tons.
The top four importers of Kazakh pulses were Afghanistan, Turkey, China, and Uzbekistan.
Over the first 10 months of the current season, shipments to Uzbekistan increased for two key pulses. Lentil exports surged more than 7.5-fold to 5.1 thousand tons, while chickpea exports rose by 50% to 4.9 thousand tons. At the same time, Kazakh pea exports to Uzbekistan declined by 34% to 14.5 thousand tons. Nevertheless, Uzbekistan remained the third-largest importer of Kazakh peas after Afghanistan and China.
